Mar 23,2024

Taiwan, China Circuit Board Association (TPCA) held the third meeting of the 11th session on March 21. The agency said that last year, affected by the slow recovery of the global economy, the three major application markets (mobile phones, computers and semiconductors) faced serious destocking pressure, and demand did not meet expectations, leading to a 16.2% decline in the output value of Taiwan, China's PCB industry to NT $1.13 trillion in 2023.

With the replenishment of electronic product inventory and the recovery of demand in core markets such as mobile phones, computers, and semiconductors, as well as a significant increase in demand in fields such as electric vehicles, artificial intelligence (AI) servers, and satellite communication, the overall electronic and PCB industry will usher in the next growth cycle this year. It is estimated that in 2024, the output value of Taiwan, China's PCB industry chain will reach NT $1.21 trillion, an increase of 7.4%.

TPCA Chairman Li Changming stated that key industry trends in 2024 will focus on geopolitics, green sustainability, and AI. He pointed out that due to geopolitical influence, the supply chain has begun to expand overseas, and Thailand will become a new settlement for the global PCB industry. It is estimated that by 2025, the PCB output value in Thailand will increase from 3.5% in 2022 to 4.7%.
