Polar Semiconductor and Nexperia Partner to Advance Next-Generation Power MOSFET Manufacturing in the U.S.

Polar Semiconductor, LLC and Nexperia BV have announced a strategic partnership to manufacture next-generation power MOSFET devices at Polar Semiconductor’s U.S.-based wafer fabrication facility. The collaboration is designed to expand Polar’s power MOSFET portfolio while strengthening supply capabilities for customers worldwide.

By combining Polar Semiconductor’s extensive expertise in power semiconductor manufacturing and ongoing capacity expansion with Nexperia’s advanced power MOSFET technology, the partnership aims to address the rapidly increasing demand from AI server infrastructure, robotics, industrial automation, and automotive applications.

As a U.S.-headquartered semiconductor foundry with fully domestic manufacturing operations, Polar Semiconductor operates a high-volume wafer fabrication facility in Minnesota and brings significant experience in power device production. The company has accumulated more than 60 years of semiconductor manufacturing expertise and over 25 years of automotive production experience. With IATF 16949 certification and a strong commitment to zero-defect manufacturing, Polar provides a solid foundation for the collaboration. Under the agreement, Nexperia is developing a new family of power MOSFETs covering multiple voltage classes and package options to support a wide range of power electronics applications.
