The Dutch government announced on January 9th that it has reached an agreement with Nvidia to provide hardware and technical support for potential artificial intelligence (AI) facilities.
As part of the EU's broader project to strengthen the European digital economy, the Netherlands plans to build a facility that will allow artificial intelligence "supercomputers" to participate in research and development.
In 2024, the Dutch government allocated 204.5 million euros for investment in artificial intelligence and also plans to utilize subsidies from Europe.
Dutch Economy Minister Dirk Beljaarts said, "The opportunity to achieve this project has greatly increased through the agreement with Nvidia. Competition is fierce, and the world is pursuing artificial intelligence technology. This deal brings the goal of establishing artificial intelligence facilities in the Netherlands one step closer." However, Beljaarts did not provide specific details of cooperation.
