Counterpoint: 7/6 nanometer has become the most "gold-absorbing" process node
The research institute Counterpoint recently released the foundry industry statistics for the first quarter of 2022. The data shows that among the top five foundries, TSMC, SMIC, and UMC have increased market share, Samsung and GF have remained stable, and TSMC is from the HPC category. Revenue surpassed smartphones for the first time, becoming the company's largest revenue source.
Divided by technology nodes, the highest foundry revenue in the quarter was the 7/6nm node, accounting for about 18% of the industry's output value, mainly undertaken by TSMC, followed by 16/14/12nm, the second largest node. Samsung and GF also have a certain share in this segment.
